... Even in Ohio. When raising two boys, each day is a new adventure. Some are good, some are sticky, some are proud, some are frustrating. We love each other and celebrate the family moments. All of these days add up to a life of crazy love and lots of fun.

0.5 < 90
While in Kansas City for Thanksgiving, we celebrated Great Grandpa Stevens' 90th birthday. Here's a picture of the most senior Stevens man holding the most junior Stevens man.

Rolly Polly
Today Howie was playing nicely on his back, and then I looked over at him and he was playing on his tummy! Just as I called for Becky to say he had rolled over, and as she was coming in, he rolled back onto his back. So of course I grabbed the video camera and then he refused to perform. Finally I got a shot of him going from back to tummy (below). Becky put him down for a nap this afternoon on his back, and when she went in to check on him he was on his tummy.

Another Day of Hard Work at the Farm
My friend Maggie and I took Howie and Adrien to the Sunflower Festival at Gorman Farm. Unfortunately, the sunflowers had fallen victim to the recent drought here, but the farm was still a good time. Here are some pictures of our adventure.

New Car!
We traded the Jeep for this 2006 Toyota Sequoia with 18,000 miles. The extended warranty on the Jeep was expiring soon, and in true American-car fashion, stuff was breaking left and right. For peace-of-mind, we unloaded it. Due to a pricing mistake on the part of the dealership, we got the Sequoia for a song.
The best part is... it's not a minivan!

Howie's Day at the Farm
We took Howie out to his first day at the farm with some friends of ours. They had goats, chickens, and pheasants. Howie played in a big feed trough filled with corn and enjoyed a hayride with lots of scarecrows. We picked out pumpkins in the patch along the hayride. Of course, we had to get one of the biggest ones we (meaning Howie and I) could find. I had him in some really cute overalls to look all farm-ish, but it was 80 degrees so he was lucky that the photos are not down to his diaper.

Eating in the Tub
We have eliminated the step of moving Howie from the kitchen to the bathroom after mealtime by feeding him IN the bathtub. For now, he doesn't know the difference. We'll move him to the table when a) he is eating steak or b) when he can keep the yummies in his mouth. Whichever comes first!
