My wonderful husband tackled the pit-of-wires in the basement this past weekend. He pulled out every electronic device we have ever owned and "put away" when it went bad. In this mix was some tapes of family footage from when Howie was a little baby. We didn't even have the device to play the videos anymore... what to do?
Rick finds a buddy to lend him a camera that plays the tapes (Thank you Jay!) and recovers the videos for DVD production. How fun to watch our little Howie with his fat cheeks and baby squawks on the big screen.
Years ago, I got frustrated with the videos and how they seemed to pile up with no where to go. So I abandoned making them and just went with the iPhone strategy of snapping a video and sending it off to family. Done.
But now we have like zero quality footage of Johnny from the being a toddler. Ah, the guilt!
So I am taking a new initative to document their lives with a digital video camera we have. I have renewed my commitment to plough through the frustrations I feel when I go to log my efforts on iMovie, or iDVD, or wait... where is that program on the computer again?!
Here is a first attempt at making it work...
