Throw Back to the 80's

Howie found this cassette tape walkman in his closet.  He loves it and it's hilarious.  He found some books on tape and plugged himself in for a few days.  While wearing the headphones, he would yell across the room, "Mom!  Did you hear them talking about the weather?!"  I got a real laugh out of watching him walk around the house looking like he belonged on "Family Ties" or "Punky Brewster".

Friends.

Hair!

Gotta love the post-nap summer hair.  It's a combination of wet swimming hair and a DEEP sleep.

Say "Cheese"

Howie was playing with one of my broken digital cameras.  He just asked, "Is this one the cheese button?  Which one is the cheese button?"

Playing Inside the Box

I ordered this cardboard house from Zulilly a few months ago.  I was waiting for a warm, peaceful day to pull it out as an activity for the boys.  Today was the day.  We grabbed the markers, opened the box and gasped with excitement as the house went up.  Lots of coloring, exploring and pretend play happened with this simple and cheap (I think I got it for like 80% off!) activity.

And the fun isn't over.

We have many more days of play in it.

Until it falls apart.

Lovin' the Boden Towel Coats

My friend Katie has a knack for pulling out her camera at these great moments in life.  Today, we were chillin' at the Lifetime pool and she got this great shot of the three boys in their "towel coats".
This is one of those pictures that will be bookmarked in my mind as time passes.
Look at those faces peaking out of their hoodies... Johnny is so delighted to be part of the boy clan.

Thank you Katie!

Summer Hike

The boys love being out in nature.  They yell, run, jump and discover all that God has to offer.  So this summer, we are seeking out more trails and nature hikes than previous years.  Plus, we are ready for it.  Johnny is just old enough to use his walking legs to keep up with big brother and he knows enough to stay on the mulched trail.  This way, we can enjoy nature, but keep making progress in a positive direction down the trail life instead of bickering about how we are going to go about our day.  Typically, we don't see much wildlife, the boys are way too loud to spot a deer or your simple Ohio native squirrel.  But that's okay, because we are not really out there to see exotic midwestern wildlife.  It's more about running as crazy as you can while taking big gulps of fresh air.

Really, "What's not to love?"
